Four panels of staggered height, 2000mm at the center and 1800mm at either side, standing in a room like a horizon line.
Each panel is painted by hand on a single board with a blue-green landscape: malachite and indigo layered into distant mountains, white space left for cloud, pines and white plum placed in the foreground, all on an aged ochre-gold ground that reads more like an antique the longer you look.
The frame is European beech, lacquered black, with a fine line drawn along the edge, quiet enough not to compete with the painting and firm enough to hold the four panels together. Panel count and height can be adjusted to the room, and the landscape can give way to birds and flowers, architectural scenes or calligraphy.
